 Frequently Asked Questions

Here we have answered some of your most FAQ's...

Where are you located?

Located Downtown Charlottesville; 609 East Market Street, Studio 107. We are inside of the Michie Building on the corner of Market & 7th Street. . Please enter our main door that opens to the 7th Street side of the building (across from SNL Plaza). The Police Station and Market St. Garage is on the Market St. side of the building.

How much are classes?

Fees vary and are subject to change so we do not publish rates online except here on our site and on our online store. You can go to the store site and check the rates after registering. You may also call us for a quote. Please keep in mind that we do offer sliding scale rates and scholarships.

What type of memberships do you offer?

We offer one time single class cards, 10-punch cards, and memberships (monthly, semi-annual, and yearly).

How long is my class card valid for?

Class cards should have an expiration date on them. Currently, class cards are good for two and 1/2 months but can be extended with approval for special circumstances.

Can my class card or membership be put on hold or extended?

Yes, because your card is non-refundable and non-transferable, we try to make sure that we honor cards until their expiration date. Each situation is different, so remember to get your hold or extension okayed by the Director in advance.

What should I wear to class?

Please wear comfortable and non-restrictive clothing that allow you to move freely. It is always good to layer and/or bring a sweatshirt. Please remove street shoes when inside of the studio. Most classes are done in bare feet or studio/dance shoes. As a courtesy, please do not wear heavily scented perfumes, deodorants, oily hair products, etc. to class.

Should I eat before class?

You won't feel like moving much on a full stomach. Not only will you be uncomfortable, it will be harder to take a full breath on a full stomach. If you must, try to only eat something very light before coming to class. If you have low blood sugar or the timing with your meals is difficult, it is perfectly okay to bring a light snack.

What do I need to bring to class?

Just yourself. Feel free to bring a water bottle and towel with you to class. For yoga, if you do not have a mat, we do have mats in the studio for your use.

How early should I get there before a class?

The studio is generally open 10-15 minutes before your class begins. The instructor most often will be doubling as the receptionist. When arriving for class, please enter quietly and take a seat or feel free to walk through to the back to change in the dressing room.

How do I get more information?

We are generally in the office Mon thru Fri, 9 a.m.-4 p.m. and in the studio 15 minutes before and after each class. If you call during this time and get our voice mail, we have either stepped out, taking another phone call, or teaching class.
