DanceFit Fitness Classes are designed to "help you feel good and look great!". We have a diverse selection of classes taught by trained professionals and follow all exercise and fitness guidelines for safe and effective training. All of our classes are custom designed and are unique in format and style incorporating principles of natural movement that can be applied functionally to all aspects of daily living. Classes are joint-friendly, safe, effective, balanced and energizing targeting the whole you. Perfect for all levels and ages.

BeFit/BodyShop. For those who need to set smart behavior modification goals, monitor progress, and assure achievement of their goals. You will meet once weekly for group work (similar to Weight Watchers) without an additional charge and join into regular classes or use a program that has been developed especially for you.

Program includes diet and workout plans for cardiovascular health, lifestyle changes, and meal plans. If you want to burn lots of calories and get rid of flab and design a new outlook on living, this is the class for you. Workouts include loads of cardio and loads of fun. Impact and intensity of the workouts grow with you over time.

BootCamp. This boot camp workout leads you through high intensity strength and cardio exercises designed to challenge your strength and endurance while burning lots of calories.

This class incorporates drills designed to enhance agility, speed, power, strength, and quickness for both the upper and lower body. We combine intervals of cardio drills and muscle conditioning exercises to provide you with the ultimate circuit workout.

We move quickly from one exercise to the next with little or no rest with breaks when needed. The heart rate stay up and the heart, lungs, and body is totally conditioned. Many of these moves are advanced but modifications are taugh so that all fitness levels can take the class and stay safe and avoid injury.

Designed to give you the best resykts for improving endurance, cardiovascular fitness, and muscular strength. Based on our signature workout format to get the best full body workout in the time that even the busiest of us can spare!

Caliente! (AfroKarib). This unique dance-fitness based workout combines moves from African, Latin, and Caribbean dance. Caliente! We dance our way into shape with this unique African-Brazilian-Latin way of moving! Join in the shaking, dancing and burning calories to the sound of invigorating and energizing rhythms. You will work up a sweat in this class... a good one. Steps are simple and easy to master in this energizing workout that will totally condition and strengthen the entire body.


Just get on up and dance! If you don't already know how to dance, you will definitely be inspired in this class. You will burn calories because dancing helps you get in shape and stay in shape; and you will lose weight and tone your body. In addition to being a great physical workout, this type of dancing is a is also a great mental exercise; and it doesn't matter how old you are!


Join us in this fun and stress-reducing workout. It's a great stress relief after a hard day at work; will help you build self-confidence; meet new people. So no matter your age, shape, or size... if you can walk, you can dance.

CardioFlex. Designed to get you in shape, burn some fat and tone up. (Benefits: Maximized Fat-Burning, Weight Loss, Improved Cardiovascular Strength, Toned Muscles with Resistance Training, Improved Balance & Increased Flexibility with Stretching.)

Want to see results quick, fast and in a hurry? Well, join us in CardioFlex - a fun and invigorating aerobic total body conditioning workout. You will burn loads of calories; tone your muscles and increase your metabolic set point... all at the same time! This class is excellent for those who want to increase muscle tone and to lose unwanted fat. And, you get to workout at your own level as you progress. Its a low to moderate intensity and impact class. Includes a complete toning segment targeting the core and total body. Excellent for those who want to increase muscle tone and to lose unwanted fat. You will benefit from not only burning calories, but also from improved coordination, balance, strength, and flexibility.

By the way, this class includes 20 minutes of ACE (Amazing Cardio-Muscular Endurance) and 20 minutes of HAT'S Off (Hips, Abs & Arms, Thighs) and is combined to give you a total body workout. Will improve cardiovascular and muscle strength and endurance. All parts of the body worked for burning fat and calories, developing muscle tone, increasing energy, and stretching. Cardio segments are varied for intensity, variety and fun.

Wear workout clothes and studio/court shoes if you wish. You may also workout with bare feet. Bring a towel and water bottle and if you have hand weights (1 to 3 pound only) please bring them; if you don’t, you may use what we have at the studio.

It is a cardio dance-fitness based class that frees the body, enlivens the spirit, and strengthens the soul.


Combines the best moves from traditional dance (ballet, jazz, funk, tap, modern, African, Carribbean, improvisation), yoga, tai chi, and ethinic dancing that is easy to follow and fun to do. Just as you will sculpt your body, you breathe easier, increase stamina, and improve alertness. Gain fitness, strength and increased flexibility dancing to all types of music.  Great for all ages, conditions and levels, beginner to advanced can join in the fun. Workouts are joint-friendly, safe, and effective.

Senior DanceFit. Designed especially for Seniors this class is about improving mobility and cardiovascular strength while burning calories, improving coordination and balance and having fun! This dance class for senior allows you to move at your own pace with music that makes you feel good from your head to your toes. It will help to free the body, enlivens the spirit, and strengthens the soul by increasing circulation and protecting your joints and bones. Combines the best of Broadway jazz, big band music, and any other dance styles that the group chooses. All dance steps are easy to follow and fun to do. Workouts are joint-friendly, safe, and effective; designed just for seniors.  

Dance Conditioning forTeen/Adult

Dance Conditioning is a fitness class which works on balance, muscular strength and endurance (stamina), flexibility, grace and confidence. It’s good for our brain, too, because it develops and enhances memorization skills.  The class incorporates movements and techniques from ballet and jazz. And it’s fun!!! Call to register.

Flirty Girl Smooth Moves Cardio Dance Class. You will love this video girl dance style. Come and learn how to be flirty and dance to bring out your natural Pussycat Doll! This class is very tasteful in a fun dance workout that is simple to learn with signature moves of the video vixens. Features movements using You will improve your confidence and learn to "strike a pose" while gaining a beautiful and lean body using smooth moves.. fierce! No dance experience required!

Functional Fitness Workout

This class is designed to help with developing energy, strength, and flexibility to improve the ability to perform day-to-day functions with ease. Muscles used in movements required to clean, shop, and have fun recreationally are focused on like lifting, pushing, pulling, sitting. In addition to light cardio work, we will use the body's own resistance and light hand weights.

Kickbox. Add variety to your workout routine... add Cardio Kickboxing! Get the body conditioning benefits of cardiovascular workout, flexibility and strength in this class. Combines high-intensity drills for a dynamic cardiovascular workout including jabs, hooks, uppercuts and kicks for a leaner body and a healthier state of mind. No equipment required and gloves are not used. All are welcome including new students to high fitness levels..

MatCore & BarreMatCore. These classes focus on toning the total body to be lean, tight, and toned.. Consists of several workout components that the instructor will select based on the class participants: Each series of exercises will target all of your major muscle groups. An all around intensive total body workout that ends with a rejuvenating stretch. There is no cardio component to these classes but they are an excellent compliment to any of our other cardio classes.

Barre - Abs, Butt, Hips, & Legs Burn: Includes all of the moves and routines to give these areas an inspiring experience that will change the tone, shape, and condition. You will end up with a firm  and lifted butt, sculpted legs and flattened belly. After you finish this class is you will be on your way to the next level of fitness.

Barre - Upper Body Burn: Upper Body Burn is a total upper body workout will help you shape your shoulders, arms, chest, and back.

MatCore - Strong, Centered, and Stretched! For those who want to create more energy and rejuvenate your life. Practice effective ways to release tense muscles and use your body more efficiently.

MovingEnergy is a Free Style dance class... move from the inside out; free the body, inspire your soul, and express the freedom within your body: Move Your Body, Feel Your Energy, Let Your Spirit Soar


What is MovingEnergy? Increase your energy and body dynamics with a MovingEnergy class.  This unique holistic movement class expands the boundaries of yoga with the dynamic qualities of dance. This type of movement integrates your three energy centers: body, mind, and spirit for increased vitality, mobility, and longevity.


MovingEnergy brings more fun into your life and into your workout by integrating many techniques such as yoga, improvisation, creative movement, breathing, music, and play into a dynamic experience of self-expression. 

The class is designed to discover, create, and build energy throughout the body using structured sequences of natural movement patterns to integrate, open and energize the seven energy centers of the body, known as chakras. Set to invigorating and pulsating rhythms, sounds of world beat, dance and sacred music, this class allows you to feel the flow; sometimes, smooth and tranquil and sometimes dynamic and strong.


Why MovingEnergy? MovingEnergy is a form of movement in which participants move from the inside out and outside in to tap into their inner and outer vibrations inspired by the music and the energy within the body. The movements and music help to create the right environment for self-discovery and self-mastery to move using one’s self-expression and feelings of empowerment.

The inspiration for movement comes from both conscious and unconscious awareness of what and how the body is moving; its about using whatever comes from within. There is no judgment, expectations, and/or right or wrong. The “rightness” of what is created lies with the mover thus, no previous dance experience is necessary. Each participant experiences MovingEnergy in their own way that feels good and honors their being.


What Can I Expect From MovingEnergy? If you can remember what is it to be free, to release all concerns about being right or wrong or finding someone else’s comfort in your body then this is the class for you. You will be able be the “you” in you and to explore those dimensions of yourself that you may know least… it can be like rediscovering yourself.

The class environment provides an open and safe space to move, release stress, relax, stretch, tone, breath, and condition the body all at the same time.  MovingEnergy includes a warm-up segment, a guided free-style rhythm movement segment set to inspiring music, and a guided relaxation segment to cool the body.


Classes begin with getting in touch with your body with lots of energizing breathing and progresses to full body movements of all parts of the body using easy, natural movements that are low impact dancing to all kinds of fun and energizing music.

Participants experience a greater freedom of expression will still gaining the benefits of total body conditioning (strength, cardio, and flexibility) and leave the class feeling invigorated and energized allover. Additional benefits have included weight loss, gained strength, increased energy, more alertness, more awareness and acceptance of your body, and improved coordination and balance. Participants say that taking this class is like ‘creating my own therapy session”.


What Do I Need To Begin MovingEnergy? To begin MovingEnergy class, you need no special equipment. It is best just to show up a few minutes before a class if it is your first time to register. Wear loose and comfortable clothes (preferably cotton) so that you can breathe and move freely. Layers are a good choice. You may wear dance shoes if you wish however, bare feet seems to work best for most participants.


About the Practitioner: Edna-Jakki Miller has taught, practiced, and lectured in fitness, dance, and holistic health for over 30 years.   She teaches dance, fitness, aerobics, yoga, bodybuilding, stretching, and breathing.   She has helped hundreds of people in the area of fitness, wellness, and personal growth both domestic and international levels. 

YogaBeing is about being present... with the body, mind, and soul for an integrative experience that you can get in no other fitness program. Yoga' is a Sanskrit word meaning union or to join.  One yoga path is HATHA YOGA, which is union by bodily control or the physical practice of yoga.  In yoga, we practice asanas (bodily control) and pranayama (breath control).  The purpose is to link the intentional movement of the body to the intentional movement of the breath.  There are many different styles or forms of Hatha Yoga and all DanceFit yoga classes are a form of Hatha Yoga.

Yoga improves lifestyle, reduces tension, and helps reverse effects physical inactivity.  In addition, yoga improves circulation to the spine and the rest of the body.  Hatha Yoga is one of the most complete systems of exercise ever created and there are many benefits to practicing yoga including becoming more relaxed, less stressed and more flexible.

Yoga can be safely practiced by all types of people including individuals with limited mobility to the professional athlete.  Yoga understands that people are different and they need different approaches that are in harmony with their differences.  You don't have to be able to turn your body into a pretzel in order to enjoy the benefits of yoga.  Anyone, any age, condition, or profession will benefit from yoga practice.

Yoga works on all of the various systems of the human body with physiological benefits targeted at wellness and health of your physical body, cells, brain center, spine, nervous system, internal organs and glands.  Yoga will keep your body supple, fit and strong. 

Yoga also helps by increasing oxygen to the brain, improving memory, and increasing the ability to focus attention for long periods.  And the beauty is that yoga can be done anywhere including the bed, a chair, while lying down, sitting or standing.  Inactivity can be a factor in disease, pain and stiffness. 

YogaLight and ChairYoga is about meeting the needs of those with special needs and or limited mobility. These hatha yoga-based classes combines yoga asanas, breathing exercises, and relaxation techniques for general wellness, balance, strength, endurance, and flexibility. YogaLight is a balanced class that is fun and can be done by anyone regardless of age and fitness level. Great for seniors, those new to yoga, and those with limited mobility. 

ChairYoga is combines the best that yoga has to offer while seated. Many energy medicine and therapeutic exercises are combined to really increase and restore energy for revitalization and vitality.

YogaFlow and YogaDance is about connecting breath and intention to movement. YogaFlow brings basic yoga poses linked together in a flowing style with asanas that are also taught in the traditional way. Great for all levels because of the different variations and progressions used. Includes breathing technique and deep relaxation for developing strength, flexibility and improved posture.
